Start by observing the actual first session

Use the correct role and permissions in a safe environment. Ask the participant to work toward their real project, then watch what they try without coaching them through the interface. Record questions and recovery steps as well as successful clicks.

Do not turn a pause into an invented motivation. Missing information, a poor product fit, or concern about importing client data could all explain hesitation. The screen is one possible obstacle, not an established cause.

Prototype the smallest useful alternative

The proposed screen offers an editable example rather than an empty workspace. It explains the first action and leaves room for the customer to choose a different starting point. It should not force sample content into a live workspace without permission.

Compare comprehension and task progress with the existing version. Include someone who already has a plan and someone who is not the account owner. A path that helps one role may be wrong for another.

Make the follow-up match the state

A starting reminder should link to the task, not a generic dashboard. Check whether the account has already saved a plan before deciding that the reminder is relevant. Provide help for a missing prerequisite instead of repeating the same instruction.

What remains unknown

No real customer research, baseline, traffic volume, or improvement has been measured here. The proposed screen is a hypothesis to test.
